The true state-of-affairs of Tomioka, a town in Fukushima Prefecture, now a no-man's-land after its complete evacuation during the Fukushima #1 Nuclear Power Plant accident, are described in this documentary. It follows the life of Matsumura Naoto, the man living there with the animals that were left behind and is directed by Nakamura Mayu of Lonely Swallows - Living as the Children of Migrant Workers.
Matsumura began taking care of dogs, cats, ostriches, and cows in this town deprived of electricity and water supply in the wake of the nuclear accident. Through Matsumura's struggles and the extraordinary pains he exerts to live and to keep the animals alive, the nature of true happiness questioned.
