Sequel to the 2015 documentary Alone in Fukushima about a man living in Tomioka, a town in Fukushima Prefecture rendered uninhabitable by the 2011 nuclear power accident. Nakamura Mayu returns as director, cinematographer and editor.
Matsumura Naoto, who goes by "Naoto", lives by himself in Tomioka. Eight years after the first film, he continues caring for animals in the town that young people still shun, even after the "restoration" campaign during the Tokyo Olympics. The film examines Naoto's way of life and considers our present circumstances.
