The film adaptation of Yumemakura Baku's best selling novel, 'The Summit of the Gods' depicting with overwhelming scale men who risk their lives atop the world's highest mountain peak. Filming in Nepal for over a month, this is the first Japanese film to successfully carry out a film shoot at a height of 5200 meters.
Alpine photographer, Fukamachi(Okada Junichi), finds a camera among artifacts left behind by legendary mountaineer Sir Thomas Malory, but accomplished climber, Habu (Abe Hiroshi), shows up and takes it away. Fukamachi trails Habu toward a bitter cold Mt. Everest...
