Non-fiction drama about the life of Japanese chess player Murayama Satoshi, who passed away at age 29. Moving portrayal of Murayama's life as he battles illness while devoting himself to Japanese chess, alongside heartwarming episodes of those who loved him. Directed by Mori Yoshitaka of Space Brothers.
Satoshi (Matsuyama Kenichi) decides to devote his life to shogi, or Japanese chess, which he discovers in the course of his many hospital stays during childhood. Eventually Satoshi turns pro and faces off against rivals like the genius Habu Yoshiharu (Higashide Masahiro) at the expense of his own life.
