Watanabe Mamoru has shot over 200 pink films, dedicating the entirety of his directing career to the genre. In this final installment of a four-part documentary series, Watanabe talks about his own life. The director, Ikawa Koichiro, served as the screenwriter of Watanabe's films in his final years.
Shooting 10 films per year, Watanabe had become popular, but at the same time he sensed that someday he would not be able to direct anymore. By the mid-1980s, he strongly felt as if his era was finally over. He shares memories of Arai Haruhiko, Takahashi Banmei, Komizu Kazuo, Takita Yojiro, among others.
