[ Story ]
Yakuza clan boss Habara (Nishida Toshiyuki) will be sent to jail in a few days, and he has two regrets. One is to meet his daughter Kaori (Tokiwa Takako), whom he hasn't seen in 25 years. The other is to finally see his musical hero, James Brown, in concert. Habara's crew is deeply affected by Habara's declaration of the demise of the organization, so they make a plan to kidnap James Brown for their beloved boss. They run into JB by chance and succeed in snatching him, but it turns out to be only a look-alike, represented by a talent agency for impersonators run by the daughter, Kaori. In trouble, she has to hold the concert without JB, but Habara brings him to Kaori and the show is a big success. Thanking him after the event, Habara and Kaori start to make up for the lost years. In a final stroke of luck, Habara's criminal conviction is dropped.
A long-running hit in Japan, Get Up! is directed by filmmaker, Izutsu Kazuyuki, known for his great sense of comedy.
