[ Story ]

The first sequel to "Space Battleship Yamato 2199", a modernized retelling of the classic, science fiction anime "Space Battleship Yamato". It depicts a brand new voyage following the ship's return to Earth from Iscandar. At the helm is "Break Blade" series director, Habara Nobuyoshi. The screenplay was written by Fukui Harutoshi, the writer of "Mobile Suit Gundam UC".
Three years after the voyage to Iscandar, the Earth has once again become a blue planet due to the Cosmo Reverse System and a peace treaty has been signed with the Garmillas. However, Earth chooses to pursue military expansion in order to further its revival. Meanwhile, the specter of the Gatlantis threat is approaching.
