A documentary revealing episodes of famous swords and the high-ranking samurai or swordsmen who bore them while shining a spotlight on the techniques of master sword smiths and sword polishers who carry on the skill in the present day. This is the directorial debut of Ouchi Tatsuo.
The touken is creating a craze and thanks to the success of the game Touken Ranbu, even the term "touken jyoushi (sword girl)" was born. The camera focuses in on the secret techniques of master sword smith, Gassan Sadatoshi, a recognized intangible cultural asset by Nara Prefecture, and sword polisher Honami Koshu, one of Japan's living national treasures.
