The third and final film following "Mobile Suit Gundam I" and "Mobile Suit Gundam II: Soldiers of Sorrow". A considerable number of scenes were added specifically for this film in which Newtypes, a different kind of human, make their appearance and the storyline reaches its climax.
In this tragic tale revolving around the encounters with Lalah (voice: Keiko Han), a female Newtype whom Char (voice: Shuichi Ikeda) discovers and turns into a pilot, the forces of the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon clash in the decisive battle at A Baoa Qu.
