[ Story ]
A woman diver in great peril is rescued by Shinji, a fisherman. But his deed is belittled by Takiko, another diver, as a rash act. Her attitude, however, is nothing but a cloak to hide her affection for him. Shinji, hard working and manly, becomes the focus of many yearning eyes and Seikichi, the boss' son, picks a quarrel with him and violent fight ensues in which Shinji kills a man in self-defense.
Several days later Kuniko, a young woman painter from Tokyo arrives who Shinji discovers had been engaged to marry the man he had killed. Shocked by the turn of events, he reveals his anguish to Takiko. On the other hand, Kuniko's feelings toward Shinji gradually turns to love and when she rejects Seikichi he tells her of Shinji's past which he has also revealed to the police.
A gun fight ensues in which both Shinji and Seikichi are killed.
