[ Story ]
It is past midnight when Tsumura, a gang boss scurries to the rear entrance of the Bar Modonne, pushes open the door, and enters. A light is snapped on to reveal Chizu a beautiful woman and his mistress. He loves her deeply but, as they go upstairs to her room, Tsumura senses the presence of a third person, and a suspicion lurks at the back of his mind.
He tells Chizu to contact Shukichi and Tatsuya, his two henchmen to whom he had entrusted his territory before leaving for prison.
He knows that one of the two betrayed him, but Shukichi accuses Tatsuya of being the traitor and Tsumura shoots Tatsuya, only to realize that he has shot the wrong man.
Overhearing Chizu phoning to Shukichi he points his gun at her, but she convinces him that she has always been faithful and, unwittingly, he tells her of his plan to escape to Shimada that night by truck.
But the police know of his plan and set up a roadblock, and it dawns on him that the last betrayal has been committed by Chizu, the woman he loved. Returning to Tokyo, he finds her in Shukichi's arms and before phoning the police to give himself up, he kills the man and woman he had trusted most.
