[ Story ]
Omon is the successful proprietress of a weaving shop, but at the same time she is the boss of 3,000 tough gamblers. She is also an accomplished swordswoman and at the same time a real beauty. One day she decides to get married to someone who will be able to succeed to her territory, and then retire.
But Omon has a very high ideal. Her husband-successor must be more talented than herself in every respect. Many ambitious gamblers seek her hand, but all fail in the preliminary tests and are whipped and kicked out of the house.
One day, a very good-looking young gambler named Hyotaro comes along and passes all the preliminary tests. But in the final match with Omon herself, he is defeated.
He is stripped, whipped, and kicked out of the house, leaves the town and disappears.
A year later, Hyotaro comes back as a member of the Kabuki troupe which Omon has invited to the town. She again tests him, and again he fails.
Another year passes. lsaburo, her chief of staff who has always been secretly in love with her, tries to make advances and is given the cold shoulder. lsaburo is so humiliated that he makes up his mind to murder her and take over her territory. He and his gang assault her when she is taking a bath alone. She is helpless, but Hyotaro makes a dramatic entrance to save her.
Finally, Omon marries Hyotaro, retires from gambling, and to a happy life.
