Asakichi is a farmer's son, who delights in spending his time betting on cock fighting with his friend, Tatsukichi.
He becomes intimate with a farmer's wife, who lies in telling him she is going to have his child. Then he meets Kotoito who arouses his interest and, learning that she has been sold to the gay quarters, helps her escape.
Tatsukichi, under the influence of drink, quarrels with Sada, the strong man of a powerful boss living nearby. When Asakichi takes up the cudgels for his friend, Sada is defeated and becomes Asakichi's staunch admirer.
One day, Kotoito slips out to see Asakichi and is hidden by the landlady of a house where two young girls, Okinu and Oteru are boarding. But Kotoito is caught and is sold to the gay quarters in lnnoshima, a small island.
Asakichi and Sada call at the house and pair off, Asakichi with Okinu, and Sada with Oteru.
They go to lnnoshima, rescue Kotoito, and then return to Okinu and Oteru.
