[ Story ]

In the train to Tokyo, Asako becomes acquainted with Kashiwagi, a public prosecutor.
The next day, Asako visits Kashiwagi at his home to ask him to help release lchijo, who is detained by the police under suspicion of dealing in opium.
lchijo has a beautiful wife but keeps Asako in an apartment in Tokyo. Asako loves lchijo but Kashiwagi begins to be fascinated with her womanliness and beauty.
Asako operates a bar called ASAAKE which Kashiwagi visits and confides to her his true feeling. When lchijo comes out of jail on probation he calls his wife to Tokyo and settles her in Asako's apartment. Now Asako's pride is hurt. Was her love for him nothing but a frothy illusion? She moves to the new apartment and one night Kashiwagi visits her to propose marriage. She does not answer but later lchijo takes her to Hakone, a resort not far from Tokyo.
In the hotel lchijo tries to makes love to her, but she rebuffs him. Kashiwagi is shocked to learn that she has gone with lchijo to Hakone. But…
