[ Story ]
Sono who works for a pearl shop, goes to Kyoto on a business trip with several leisured society women. On the train she meets Motomura. Coming home from Kyoto, Sono discovers that her husband Kiyomi has been having an affair with Kyoko, her step-sister, during her absence.
Meanwhile, Kiyomi learns that Sono met Motomura in Kyoto and accuses her of infidelity. Sono finally makes up her mind to leave Kiyomi for good.
On realising what kind of man Kiyomi really is, and learning of Sono's firm resolution to divorce him, Motomura understands that he has always been in love with her. But unfortunately, Motomura meets with a traffic accident, his spinal nerves are injured and the doctors say he will never be able to move his limbs even though he should survive. Now Kiyomi asks Sono to forgive him. But her mind is firmly made up. She is determined to look after Motomura, even if she has to work hard to support the disabled man.
But the next morning Motomura's symptoms indicate complete recovery.
