[ Story ]

Toshimi was only eight years old when Masayo became her stepmother. Her father, Dr. Tanimura, a noted surgeon, passed away four years later. Ever since then, it had been almost an obsession with the young and beautiful Masayo to return her husband's hospital to its' former prosperity.
Toshimi had always been starved for a mother's love, and now at seventeen, she is running around with the wrong crowd in a vain search for the love and understanding she cannot find at home. Her only friend is Tamae, a nurse, working in her mother's hospital.
When Toshimi calls on her mother at the hospital, she is shocked to find her in the arms of Kajimura, a promising young surgeon. On her way home, he overtakes her and tries to make love to her, too. Disillusioned and sick at heart, she calls on Tamae and discovers that Kajimura has made her pregnant.
Only Toshimi sees through Kajimura and, picked up by the police, surprises the police officer who questions her by asking to be sent to a Girls' Home.
The Home seems intolerable, but more than that, the news of Tamae's suicide decides Toshimi to escape, for she is sure Kajimura is the cause of her death. Once free Toshimi stalks Kajimura with the intention of killing him.
Trapped, he grovels before her, pleading for his life. Toshimi realizes this miserable man before her is not worth the killing. For the first time, she feels peace of mind and decides to return to the Girls' Home.
