Based upon the best seller by Ayako Miura, this is about a couple whose only child is killed. The husband, as a means of macabre revenge on the wife, adopts the child of the murderer and they bring her up as their own. There comes a day, however, when she finds out and this explains much: her parent's coldness, and the more than brotherly interest of her brother. So she decides to kill herself at the very spot where the child died many years before.
