[ Story ]

Kaneko Teppei (Kase Ryo), in the midst of job hunting, is mistaken as a groper on a train on his way to a job interview, and arrested on the spot. Teppei is taken to a police station for interrogation, where he insists on his innocence, but nobody seems to take notice of him. His claim of innocence is not upheld at the prosecutors' interrogation either, and he is charged. Arakawa (Yakusho Koji), a veteran attorney and Sudo (Seto Asaka), a rookie attorney, take the case as the defense attorneys. Believing in his innocence, they exert themselves in collecting evidence, shoulder to shoulder with Teppei's mother and friends. They located the witnesses who were on the train, and go to trial, but Teppei is convicted in court. His trial continues.
The issues of criminal trials in Japan are portrayed through a case where a young man faced unjust accusations. The conviction rate for criminal trials is said to be 99.9% in Japan. Directed by Suo Masayuki of Shall We Dance? . Teppei is performed by Kase Ryo of Letters from Iwo Jima and attorney Arakawa by Yakusho Koji of Babel .
