[ Story ]
Inui, a motor car salesman, hears that a new taxi company is going to open, and hurries to sell his cars. But he has a rival, Kurokawa, and their competition for this important contract begins.
Kurokawa hires a girl, Tomoko, to spy for him but she is in love with Inui and, telling him everything, offers to become a counter-spy. In the meantime the new taxi company has started to buy Kurokawa's cars.
Inui now realizes that Kurokawa is trying to steal the plans for his company's new car and so he digs up an old scandal about Hashida, Kurokawa's boss, and blackmails him into handing over some blueprints of a new car. These turn out to be those belonging to his own company-the spy attempt has apparently been successful.
There is also a spy in Inui's company and he learns that this young man is somehow mixed up with Tomoko. He leaves her, angry beacuse she has double-crossed him.
Even then, however, Tomoko's love proves stronger and she continues to provide him with information.
In the meantime, the son of the president of Kurokawa's company is kidnapped and when Inui realizes that someone from his side is responsible he quits, disgusted at this revelation of the ugly world he lives in. When next he hears from Tomoko, she too has given up, and he hopes that now perhaps they can get together.
