[ Story ]
Ryuichi (Hamada Mitsuo) comes home from Merchant Marine school to Oshima, the island of his birth and asks his father if it would be right to steal a girl who is already engaged to another. When Ryuichi tells his father that the girl loves him, which in fact he does not know, he is told to steal her by all means.
The girl of Ryuichi's dreams is Akiyo (Yoshinaga Sayuri) engaged to Sotaro. Things turn in favor of Ryuichi when he discovers that Sotaro has been seeing another girl who is now pregnant and who tries to commit suicide.
Ryuichi and Akiyo decide to marry, and her mother makes her daughter put on the wedding gown she had ordered many years ago, but had never worn.
