[ Story ]

From the ashes left by the war, rose an army of prostitutes and black marketers, forming themselves into groups for self-preservation, and living by their own code.
Into one of these groups of joy girls comes Shintaro, who eventually begins to rule them, and they in turn fall in love with him - but the penalty for free love is drastic and swift.
Originally one of the most popular plays in immediate post-war Japan, it now appears as a shocking, revealing film about the facts behind the world's oldest profession.
