From the director of "Insect Woman" and "Hogs and Warships", this is an ironic comedy about a man who makes pornography his living. In being completely honest about a subject over which society is universally hypocritical, he naturally sees himself as something of a public benefactor. It is the humanity of his hero which interests Director Imamura, and the inherent comedy in the situation. The film contains humor, satire, and a great deal of compassion.
