The television anime series "Free!", which depicted the interplay of teenage male swimmers' intense passions and sensitive spirits, hits the big screen in this second "Timeless Medley" film. Rearranging the story of the series, the film also incorporates new elements.
Matsuoka Rin (voice: Miyano Mamoru) seeks to fulfill his deceased father's dream of standing on the world stage as a swimming athlete and has a special place in his heart for the medley relay which his father also swam. Due to a difference of philosophy, he has clashed with his competitive friend Sosuke (voice: Hosoya Yoshimasa). Now, in order to swim the ultimate medley relay, Rin has gone to a new team.
