Director Katabuchi Sunao’s first theatrically released animated feature film. A princess struggling to figure out her reason for existence carves out a future for herself. Animation produced by STUDIO4℃.
Princess Arete (voice: Kuwashima Houko) was locked up in a tiny room at the top of a tall castle tower. She pondered the meaning of life while peering out from her tower window at the people living in the castle town far below. One day, she finds a secret escape hatch by deciphering an old book, and she escapes the castle and heads for the town.
