This is a new version of In This Corner of the World adding 30 minutes of additional scenes which gives a completely divergent impression of scenes and characters.
During the war in 1944, 18-year-old Suzu (voice: Non) gets married in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture. She meets Rin (voice: Iwai Nanase), a girl of the same generation as herself, and before either are aware they come to think of one another as indispensable. However Suzu unexpectedly discovers a past between her own husband Shusaku (Hosoya Yoshimasa) and Rin. Caring about each other, they both keep it to themselves. But then the summer of 1945 arrives.
