Kasatani Yoshiaki of A Short Film About DISTORTION follows up his previous film with this documentary which turns the camera on Atelier Yamanami, the facility for handicapped persons who produce imaginative art work. Artists with developmental disabilities who frequent the atelier appear in the documentary under their true name. The camera captures their true creative activities and daily routines in addition to interviews with the artists themselves who talk about the relationship between mental conditions and creativity. Also interviewed are journalists knowledgeable in "outsider art" and those in the field of fine arts.
