Director Kudo Kankuro's second film, following Yaji and Kita: The Midnight Pilgrims . With an original screenplay by the director, who is also a member of the rock band Group Tamashii, this is a nonsensical, slapstick comedy about a middle-aged punk band and a young female manager. The casting is full of surprises, as Miyazaki Aoi, known for playing girls of pure innocence, attempts her first zany character, while Sato Koichi plays a self-centered drunk. The cast performed the live music, after intensive rehearsals.
Kanna (Miyazaki), a contract employee for a record company, discovers the punk band Shonen Merikensack on a video website and sets out to sign them. But the music video was from 25 years ago. Bassist Akio (Sato) and the other members are now fully middle-aged and indulge their every whim as they lead Kanna on a merry dance. With the guitarist Haruo (Kimura Yuichi) at odds with his brother Akio, a bomb waiting to explode, the group sets off on a nation-wide tour.
