Feature film adaptation of Wakatake Chisako's same-named novel, which won both the Akutagawa and Bungei Prizes. Director Okita Shuichi has garnered numerous festival honors for films including The Chef of South Polar and Mori, The Artist's Habitat.
Seventy-five-year-old Momoko (Tanaka Yuko) is feeling lonely after being suddenly widowed. In the course of doctor visits, borrowing books from the library, and taking notes on 4.5 billion years of history, the "lonely" voices inside her mind well up to music and her days turn into lively adventures.
