Director Chikaura Kei, whose short film Signature was nominated for the short film competition section of the 70th Locarno Film Festival, makes his feature length debut with this film. It depicts the bond that develops between a young Chinese man and a lonely soba chef. The film world-premiered at the 43rd Toronto International Film Festival where it was selected for the Discovery section.
Chen Liang (Lu Yulai) is a young Chinese man who has fled from his job as a foreign trainee, and using another person's identity has come to work for a lonely soba chef, Hiroshi (Fuji Tatsuya). Though built on a lie, their relationship strengthens over time.
