[ Story ]
In the agricultural community of Takahata, in Yamagata Prefecture, farmers have been practicing organic farming for over 30 years. Concerns about overdependence on pesticides and chemical fertilizer started a movement which was supported by many city consumers who purchased products directly from the Takahata farms and even pitched-in occasionally with the farm work. An increasing number of city people began to visit the village on short stays to get hands-on experience of farming, some who have stayed to start their own farms. This documentary follows three decades of this community and its fertile co-existence with nature, including footage from 20 years ago when a crisis threatened to break up the village.
