Drama that warmly and sincerely depicts the lives of an aging mother with her autistic son. Director Wajima Kotaro wrote the screenplay for Kyoto Elegy, which was selected for the 27th Tokyo International Film Festival.
Yamada Tamako (Kaga Mariko) lives with her son Tadao (Tsukaji Muga). The branches of the plum tree in their garden grow out of control, and a neighbor complains. One day, after considerable thought, Tamako decides to have Tadao move to a group home. However, Tadao is disconcerted by the change in his environment and runs away from the home.
