Meeting Pinkerton director Sakashita Yuichiro tries his hand at comedy with an original script penned over a five-year period. A stick-in-the-mud legislative secretary and a politically naive candidate campaign with the goal of losing the election.
Tanimura (Kubota Masataka) serves as personal secretary to a representative from a provincial city, but one day his boss falls ill just as the lower house is dissolved for new elections. The politician's daughter Yumi (Miyazawa Rie) is tapped as his successor and Tanimura serves as assistant, but his life is thrown into turmoil by greenhorn Yumi's freewheeling enthusiasm.
