[ Story ]
Documentary filmmaker Ise Shinichi investigates the "phantom" films that his father Ise Chonosuke made in Indonesia during the war.
Ise Chonosuke went to Indonesia to make propaganda films as a member of the cultural battlefront. His eldest son Shinichi wanted to understand what his father was thinking when he made films promoting government policy and embarked on this documentary project some thirty years ago. Eventually Shinichi's eldest son, a director named Tomoya, and eldest daughter, an actress named Kayo, joined the project and memories of the era are passed down from father to son, and then to grandchildren.
