[ Story ]
Documentary about the lives of Kasumigaoka Public Apartments residents leading up to their eviction. Depicts the history of exclusion that unfolds under the specter of "Olympics First." Directed, shot and edited by filmmaker Aoyama Shinya.
The city-run Kasumigaoka Public Apartments were built as a development project for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Adjacent to the National Stadium, the apartment complex was populated by senior citizens averaging 65-plus years in age. Many residents lived alone and relied on each other for support, but in July 2012 they received eviction notices from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
