[ Story ]
Director Ishikawa Kei grabbed the spotlight with Gukoroku - Traces of Sin and brings world-renowned SF author Ken Liu's short story to the big screen. In this epic tale, a woman becomes the first human to achieve immortality.
The story takes place in the near future. Rina (Yoshine Kyoko) is living a nomadic existence when at age 19 she meets her mentor Ema (Terajima Shinobu) and gets a job doing "BodyWerks," which preserves dead bodies just as they were while alive. Ema's brother Amane (Okada Masaki) uses the technology to make immortality a reality. Rina gets the treatment and will live forever with her 30-year-old body.
