First feature film for the popular "Kasoken no Onna" TV drama series, which has aired for over two decades starting in 1999. Screenplay by Sakurai Takeharu, one of the main writers for the TV series and also a writer for the "Detective Conan" feature film series.
A female professor at Kyoto's Rakuhoku Medical University dies under suspicious circumstances. Sakaki Mariko (Sawaguchi Yasuko) and other forensic lab members work to crack the case with detective Domon (Naito Takashi), but they cannot ascertain for certain that it was murder. Then similar suspicious deaths start happening around the world.
