[ Story ]
The essence of Tanizaki Junichiro's literature is expressed in this poetic masterpiece. It depicts a man with an unusual love for his cat, as well as the desires and jealousies of women.
Shozo is an undependable man who runs a small hardware store in Ashiya and is unusually attached to his cat, Lily. His wife, Shinako, was a dependable woman, but did not get along with Shozo's mother, Orin, and was thrown out of the house. Moreover, Fukuko, a disobedient modern girl, took her place with a generous dowry. A furious Shinako goes to wholeheartedly confront Fukuko and a fight for Shozo plays out.
