This is the third outing in the "We Make Antiques!" comedy film series, about an antique dealer and a potter who are always getting into a lot of trouble. As in the previous films, director Take Masaharu took the megaphone and Imai Masako and Adachi Shin wrote the script.
Koike Norio (Nakai Kiichi), an antique dealer who has been striking out on his own, hears about Toyotomi Hideyoshi's undiscovered vessel "Phoenix". He asks Noda Sasuke (Sasaki Kuranosuke), an unsuccessful ceramic artist, to create a counterfeit copy, hoping to get rich quick. Eventually, it develops into a deceitful battle over the "Phoenix".
