Aki returns to her childhood home during a break from work and visits the new abode of Nodoka, her buddy from elementary school through college. Nodoka has married college upperclassman Naoto and they live with their daughter in a newly built house near Nodoka's parents. Aki feels like their home is cut off from the world around them.
