[ Story ]

Documentary production company chairman, Go (Nagashima Toshiyuki), travels to Kanagawa for the first time in twenty five years, and heads for the home of a swordsmith who was the subject of one of his films. Vague memories of a large cedar tree begin to resurface on the way, and he arrives to find that the old man has since fallen into debt and become bedridden. When Go meets the swordsmith's daughter Chigiri (Akiyoshi Kumiko), he remembers the significance of the tree; the image of her in a school uniform as she stood beneath it has remained burned into his subconscious for all these years. He offers to repay the family's debts in a bid to win Chigiri's affections, and the two become deeply involved. However, Go is suffering from cancer, and the two decide to make the most of the time they have left by losing themselves in physical union. They vow to end their lives together under the cedar tree, but Go's fond memories prevent him from going through with it. 15 years later, Alzheimers afflicted Chigiri continues to cherish Go's words and lives on with his memory.
A sensual, mature love story from pink cinema veteran Negishi Kichitaro.
