Yamakoshi Village in Niigata Prefecture suffered devastating damage from the Great Chuetsu Earthquake of October 23, 2004. This is a documentary film on the continued efforts of the residents for the restoration of their village, where all the residents had to evacuate via helicopter. It is directed by Hashimoto Shinichi who shot a film featuring the construction of the tunnel to the Yamakoshi Village, Horumaika - Tebori Nakayama Zuido no Kiroku, a year before the village was struck by the earthquake. This work not only features the process of recovery, but also the views on the significance and meaning of life the villagers obtained through their experience.
