A film adaptation of Shimizu Tatsuo's novel of the same title that came first in the "Konomys" book rankings for outstanding mystery literature. A cram school teacher investigates the disappearance of a little girl and uncovers a dark school plot. Directed by Sakamoto Junji, whose forte is dramas featuring men. Searching for Yukari (Minamisawa Nao), a former pupil who has gone missing, cram school teacher Hatano (Nakamura Toru) returns to Tokyo for the first time in 12 years. He had once been a teacher at a prestigious girls' high school there, but was forced to leave after an affair with one of his pupils, Masako (Konishi Manami). However, he soon realizes that this is related to Yukari's disappearance.
