[ Story ]
A film inspired by the lives of science fiction writer Mayumura Taku, known for works such as {The Aimed School}, and his wife Etsuko, who died of colorectal cancer in 2002. It warmly depicts a husband who writes a short story every day for five years, in order to cheer up his wife after she is told she does not have much time left to live. It is the first film version of the Boku series of television drama specials starring Kusanagi Tsuyoshi, and the director is Hoshi Mamoru, who helmed two instalments in the series. Writer Sakutaro (Kusanagi) and his bank teller wife Setsuko (Takeuchi Yuko) are former classmates who live in a state of married bliss. However, when Setsuko is diagnosed with an illness, Sakutaro finds himself at a loss at how to deal with it.
