[ Story ]

In August 1945, the Japanese army commandeers submarine U-507 which is equipped with a secret weapon called "Lorelei". "Lorelei" is able to see the shape of the seabed and the position of the enemies' fleets in three-dimensions. Major Masami (Yakusho Koji), who had resigned in protest against Kamikaze attacks, is re-appointed captain of the submarine. His orders are to sink the American transport carrying the atomic bomb. During the fierce battles against American marines, Masami finally decides to use the "Lorelei" system, but he discovers that the secret weapon is actually just a girl (Kashii Yu) with special telepathic abilities. Hiroshima and then Nagasaki are devastated by atomic bombs and talk of unconditional surrender begins in Japan. However, a rebellion breaks out on the submarine. U-507 manages to break through the American blockade and successfully destroys a B-29 bomber heading toward Tokyo to drop a third atomic bomb.
Directed by special effects wizard, Higuchi Shinji, who is well-known for his Computer Graphics and sound work on the Gamera film series.
