[ Story ]
An intimate drama based on an eponymous autobiographical short story by Showa period rebel author Irokawa Takehiro, whose works remain popular in Japan to this day. It is the first film in twenty-five years from director Naito Makoto, who helmed numerous hits in his heyday including such outstanding works as the Furyo Bancho (Delinquent Boss) series. Takeshi (Saito Takumi) won a literary magazine's newcomer award for his writing at the tender age of twentytwo, but subsequently became stifled by writer's block, and now his days revolve around playing mah jong for money. One day, an acquaintance invites him to a jazz club, where he is reunited with his high school classmate Kikko (Shiomi Yukari).
