[ Story ]
A socially-conscious documentary that gathers the testimonies of Chinese intellectuals and political activists who were forced into exile in the years between the Cultural Revolution and the Tiananmen Square incident. It was produced in Japan, and its director Han Guang is a Chinese documentarian who has studied in Japan and whose work appears in media around the world. Author Zheng Yi and playwright/painter Gao Xingjian are among those who were forced to leave China as a result of the government's persistent suppression of democracy. They now live abroad, and their words render the present situation in modern-day China in stark relief.
