Ring became an immediate blockbuster hit when it was released in 1998, creating a J-horror sensation throughout the world. The sequel, Ring 2, and prequel, Ring 0, were followed soon after Ring's theatrical release, and "Sadako", the most horrifying character from the Ring series, is resurrected in 3D.
Akane (Ishihara Satomi) is a high school teacher who hears a rumor from her students that there is actual footage on the Internet of someone's suicide. One of her female students dies after viewing the footage.
