[ Story ]

The second part of the "Golden Age Arc" of a series of film adaptations of Miura Kentaro's eponymous manga that is gaining fans around the world. The adventures of mercenaries in a fictional world modeled on medieval Europe are brought to the screen by animation production house Studio 4°C, known for its work on Tekkonkinkreet. The Band of the Hawk, a group of mercenaries led by the charismatic Griffith, rack up victory after victory. However, the kingdom of Midland, which is locked in a grim 100-year war with the empire of Chuder, issues them a foolhardy order.
