[ Story ]
Japanese film industry leader Yamashita Nobuhiro directs this film adaptation of the Akutagawa Prize-winning novel by Nishimura Kenta. Depicts the doleful adolescence of a 19-year-old junior high school graduate who works as a physical laborer. Moriyama Mirai plays the role of protagonist Kitamachi Kanta, who is a projection of the novelist himself.
The year is 1986. Loner day-laborer Kanta (Moriyama) becomes friendly with Shoji (Kora Kengo), who he meets on the job, and Yasuko (Maeda Atsuko), who works at a nearby used book shop. However, Kanta's crotchety personality creates a fissure in the threesome.
