[ Story ]

The second live-action film based on Watsuki Nobuhiro's bestselling manga. It serves as the first of a two-part narrative set in Kyoto that was the manga's most popular storyline. Otomo Keishi returns as director after helming the film that kicked off the trilogy.
Swordsman Himura Kenshin (Satoh Takeru) was once feared as a legendary killer. He now leads a quiet life, but is asked to defeat an insurgent named Shishio Makoto (Fujiwara Tatsuya), the man who took over his role as the government's secret assassin. Kenshin travels alone to Kyoto, where Shishio awaits him.
